The Ensemble Cantatio under the direction of John Duxbury, with the international soloists Bénédicte Tauran soprano, Thomas Hobbs tenor and Stephan MacLeod basse sing four Chandos Anthems (1717-1719) for soloists, small choir and orchestra which are among the most beautiful and inventive compositions of church music by the young Handel. Written for the small chapel of Cannons, they are intended for a small group of singers and instrumentalists.
