On Friday, 28 September 2018, budding scientists and physics fans of all ages will come together for Researchers’ Night at CERN, a free and fun bilingual event.
From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., a myriad of animations will be available around the brand new Esplanade des Particules, which will host its very first public event. Come and build your own particle detector (from 12 years old) and program robots (from 7 years old), visit CERN’s first particle accelerator, the Synchrocyclotron, or take a virtual reality tour of the CMS detector and Data Centre. Two spectacular and surprising shows will introduce you to the fun of fundamental physics! Your guides for this science extravaganza will be our dynamic and enthusiastic researchers.
At the Globe of Science and Innovation, enjoy the exceptional surroundings to discover our selection of the latest science movies. The evening will end with a screening of the most recent feature film on CERN, “Almost Nothing: CERN Experimental City”, an award winner at the last Nyon Visions du Réel film festival. Director Anna de Manincor will be present to share her experience and answer all your questions.
Food trucks will be available all evening to please your taste buds and quench your thirst.
