Geneva Brass Festival

The Geneva Brass Festival is back with it’s 8th edition, more intense and coloured then ever! As always, brass is in the spotlight and the festival will explore the many aspects of these instruments, in the classical repertoire as well as in jazz music! The Big Up’ Band will open the bal at the Centre des Arts with its powerful and musical sounds. Then the Ensemble Agamemnon will offer the audience an outstanding concert on very rare and ancient instruments (Museum of Arts and History of Geneva). The traditional family concert, dedicated to our young music lovers is called “A Symphony of Brass” and is provided by young musicians from the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique, Danse et Théâtre (Salle Frank- Martin). To conclude this exceptional Festival, the Harmonie Nautique, essential wind orchestra of Geneva (let’s remember they are the ensemble for which the Victoria Hall was built 125 years ago), will share the stage with one of the best euphoniumists nowadays, Thomas Ruedi. The concert will take place of course at the Victoria Hall. But just before, The Stockholm Chamber Brass, star brass quintet, laureate of numerous international prizes, will be celebrating its 30th anniversary together with the audience of Geneva, Saturday night at the Salle Frank-Martin!
