Anchored in the city centre, in the lively Jonction district, the MEG offers to an increasingly enthusiastic and curious public a window onto the world’s cultures. It is a cultural scene in Geneva with a beautiful permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions, concerts, films, shows, workshops and encounters. In 2017, the MEG won the prestigious EMYA award,The European Museum of the Year Award, the most important and prestigious award for a Museum in Europe. The permanent exhibition presents over a thousand objects from the five continents. Two installations by the artist Ange Leccia complete the display. In a spacious gallery it presents one major temporary exhibitions a year in an amazing immersive scenography. Each exhibition is complemented by a full cultural and educational program, guided visits in several languages, and a program of events, meetings, conferences and film projections. The MEG also has a Café with an outdoor terrace, a shop, and a public library where visitors can also listen to music and watch videos.
